lesson policies

  • 1) I've missed my lesson; Can I have a 'make - up' lesson?
- A make-up class will only be scheduled if a class is cancelled by your teacher. You will not receive a credit for a missed class other then that.

  • 2) Can I reschedule my lesson if I can not make it on time, or for some other reason?
- The B.g. Music Academy in Etobicoke (Toronto) has a 24-hour cancellation/rescheduling policy for private lessons. No lesson will be re - scheduled for lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours notice.
a) Only registered student can re-schedule missed lessons. "Starter Pack" adult students don't have that option. Re-scheduled lessons will be performed at the end of the school year (June) not before. Each student may re-schedule a maximum of two (2) lessons per season(10 months), when those lessons are cancelled with 24-hours notice. Phone calls and cancellations, 5min. before lesson start, won't be accepted or "let's push this lesson forward" scenario. Lessons cancelled beyond per season maximum will be charged and no extra lesson will be given.
b) Reporting a cancellation to your teacher is unfortunately not an acceptable method of canceling your lesson, it must be reported to our counter staff.

3) Can I have a 'make up' lesson, because I am going on vacation?
- Make-up lessons will not be given for absences due to missed appointments, family vacations, extended holidays such as Christmas, long weekends, etc. How to resolve this I don't want to miss my lessons? Please see question 2.

  • 4) My child is not feeling well, she or he can't come for a lesson, can I have a "make up" lesson?
- If your child is registered for the whole season (10 months) call the office 416.840.0723 and reschedule lesson you are about to miss. It will be deducted from 2 lessons per season (10 months) that you are allowed to re-schedule. Every re-scheduled lesson will be performed at the end of the school year (June) not before. Phone calls and cancellations, 5min. before lesson start, won't be accepted.

5)What if I want to reschedule or cancel more then 2 lessons per season?

- Lessons cancelled beyond per season maximum will be charged and no extra lesson will be given.

- A missed lesson cannot be applied as a credit towards future lessons.

- A student's lessons will be suspended if payment is not received in a timely manner. For VISA/MASTER CARD payments you will be notified same day about missed payment (card has been declined scenario). You are expected to bring payment same day you were informed about the status of your account.

- We are sorry too. Bank charge us too, for NSF cheques! There is a $30.00 service charge for all NSF cheques.

- During the summer months, due to the short nature of our 8 week sessionwe do not offer any cancellations, make up lessons or credits for missed lessons. A student may withdraw from one of our summer sessions before the first lesson of that session. After the session has begun we do not allow any withdrawals.
